Easter in the Park

He is risen!

Today we celebrated Easter and had the service at the local park in our city in Japan. It was a busy day with lots of preparation. Chika had been preparing for the children’s outreach after service for a number of weeks now. During the service two speakers stopped working but thankfully Joel was quick to change them out and keep things going! Jonathan preached a simple sermon on the hope of resurrection through Christ. After the service we had a kid’s program with a gospel presentation and an egg hunt. Many of the children in the park with their families came to participate. Yayoi-san share the gospel speaking of sin and faith simply with the kids and their parents listening. I have never seen so many children join the egg hunt before. We had prepared about 600 eggs and hid them around the area behind us. I don’t believe even one egg was missed, there were so many kids racing around the area looking behind every tree and in each bush. We are exhausted but we are thankful that we had this opportunity to share Christ with so many children and their families.
